33 – KABAK TÜNELİ
KABAK TÜNELİ:
Adını bölgedeki KABAK KOYU’ndan alır. Sadece tecrübeli dalıcılar için uygundur. Aslında burası mağaradan ziyade 60 m. Uzunluğunda, 5-20m. Genişliğinde, 5-8m. Yüksekliğinde bir tüneldir. Tünelin içinde son derece kırılgan, bir cins yosun olan tül mercanlar bulunmaktadır.
Kesinlikle dokunulmamalıdır. Mağaranın sakinleri ise birkaç gelincik balığı ve mağara karidesleridir. Tünelden çıkıldıktan sonra 11-12 m. derinliğe gelindiğinde ikinci dünya savaşında İngilizlerden kaçarken duvara çarpan SAVIO MASHETTİ tipi İtalyan savaş uçağının motorunu görebilirsiniz. Bir müddet gittikten sonra 16-18 m. derinlikte demir bir top namlusunun yanından geçip dalışınızı sonlandırabilirsiniz. Açık sularda kupez ve izmarit sürüleri dalış boyunca etrafınızda dans ederler. Zaman zaman da akya ve orkinos yavrusu sürülerini görmeniz olasıdır.

KABAK TUNNEL:
Taking its name from Kabak Bay nearby, the tunnel is only suitable for experienced divers. The underwater tunnel is 60 metres in length, 5-20 metres in width, and 5-8 metres in height. Shaped like a horizontal hourglass with the centre hole about 3 m round. The bryozoans (tiny invertebrate moss like colony animals) are extremely fragile, are present inside the tunnel, you must avoid touching them. Other inhabitants of the cave are several greater forkbeard and unicorn shrimps. The shrimps cluster in a dome shaped room (2-3 people max) at the back right of the first part of the cave. After exiting the tunnel, turn right and ascend gradually to 11-12 m, you will see the engine of a SAVIOA MARCHETTI SM Class Italian military plane that crashed into the wall while flying away from the British in the second world war. After going forward for a while, you can see a metal fuel tank at 16-18 metres and end your dive. In open waters, bogues and picarels dance around you throughout the dive. From time to time, it is possible to see schools of amberjacks and bonitos.
